Power Boat Helm Experience
Suitable for ages 10+Power Boats are small, high powered craft. Explore the bay and, if weather permits, parts of the South Coast aboard one of our RIB’s (rigid inflatable boats) or other power boats. Experience the thrill of high speed power boating and take the helm as you learn how to helm and crew one of our boats.
RIB Tour
Suitable for ages 8+Experience the thrill of high speed power boating whilst taking a tour of the coast of Jersey, exploring the extensive bays and wildlife that our picturesque island has to offer. A highly interactive and fast paced experience. If you're lucky you may even get to see some dolphins.
Kayaking
Suitable for ages 6+A kayaking session can take many forms and can be for all ages, from skills training to fun sessions. There are many games, both wet and dry, which can be played whilst in kayaks. Kayaking is all about personal achievement and enjoyment, explore the bays and coastline under your own power.
Rafting
Suitable for ages 8+Using blue barrels, a limited amount of rope and staves the objective is to build a raft to race around a course or see who can stay afloat the longest. This activity promotes team-work and cooperation as well as testing out the participants's knowledge of knots and their concepts of building items from scratch.
Coracles
Suitable for ages 6+Coracles are small lightweight oval shaped craft propelled by a single bladed paddle. In small teams you will construct and race the coracles around a predesignated course. Promoting skills, team-work and creativity.
Swimming
Suitable for ages 6+Take a dip in the sea, using our instructors as safety cover, enjoy the waters around Jersey with the simplest water activity there is, swimming. Needing no specialist equipment, swimming builds strength, confidence and can even boost teamwork skills.
Life-Saving
Suitable for ages 6+Learn valuable lifesaving skills related to the water. From self-rescue to rescuing others, cover the basics and learn the skills to keep yourself and others safe in and around the water.
Marine Explorers
Suitable for ages 6+Explore the diverse marine wildlife that Jersey has to offer, a more educational spin on water activities as you take to the shoreline and rockpools. Lead by one of our highly knowledgeable marine experts.

Want to take part in your own adventure?
The 1st Jersey (St. Ouen) Sea Scouts Water Activities team is run by a fully qualified and experienced team who want nothing more than to get as many young people on the water as possible. We run all activities in accordance with POR, local laws and national governing body recommendations. We aim to make every activity as safe but as enjoyable as possible, imparting as many skills for life as we can along the way.
From the youngest Beaver to the oldest Leader we cater for all ages and abilities. The 1st Jersey (St. Ouen) Sea Scouts Water Activities Team provide a whole host of Water Activities for Scouts on the Island of Jersey, whether they be a local or visiting group.
Since it’s reboot in 2012, our Water Activities programme has seen us take over 1000 Young People out on the water in activities ranging from Power Boating to Kayaking. With a headquarters that is land-based we are completely mobile, running activities from various beaches and marinas, allowing us to tailor the location to the activity, weather and tide.
